Applying facial masks has become an essential step in skincare routines for both women and many men, especially during the dry autumn season. With just one facial mask, dry skin can regain its moisture and become supple and smooth. However, some people may find that while others’ skin improves after using masks, theirs seems to be getting worse. This is likely due to some bad habits in mask application.

Bad Habit 1: Neglecting Facial Cleansing

Facial cleansing is a crucial pre – mask step. After a day of exposure to dust and exhaust in the outside world, the pores on the face are already clogged with oil and dirt. If proper cleansing is not done, the pores cannot open. It is recommended that even for hydrating masks, the frequency should not exceed three times a week. For other types of masks, twice or even once a week is sufficient.
